Not gonna lie, I wasn’t sure what to expect because I’ve heard mixed things about Abbey Burger Bistro, but the food was actually pretty damn good! I checked out their location in Fed Hill – they also have one in Fells Point – with Bmorefood the other day, and got to try a handful of dishes I really liked. First up, their mac n’ cheese.
This bowl of nom deliciousness starts at $5.75, and it’s served with cavatappi and three cheese sauce. We put tomatoes, jalapeños, and bacon in ours (add a dollar upcharge for each topping), and the result was pure goodness. I really, REALLY can’t recommend this enough. The pasta was cooked perfectly al dente, and the sauce was to die for good. If you love bacon as much as me, you’ll flip a sh*t over this dish.
Next up, their waffle fry nachos. These come fully loaded with chili, black beans, avo, jalapenos, tomatoes, nacho cheese and spicy creme fraiche. You’re getting serious bang for your buck because this ginormous plate was only $9 so it’s more than enough for you + frands. I definitely want to go back and try their crab tots as well, like tots with crab dip and cheddar jack cheese? How bomb does that sound!
Saving the best for last because this was seriously bomb: their chocolate chip cookie sundae ($7). Nomsters, there are no words for this incredible dessert. A warm gooey cookie baked to order in a cast iron skillet, topped with Taharka Brothers’ vanilla ice cream with whipped cream and chocolate sauce. Need I say more? Just take all my money right now, ha! I’d go back for this alone, BUT THEY ALSO HAVE FUNNEL CAKES HERE! Le sigh. I guess I’ll just diet tomorrow.
