Addie’s Restaurant: A Brunch You Won’t Forget

We recently had the chance to try out Addie’s Restaurant in Potomac, MD, and we were beyond impressed! The food was amazing all around, the staff was super friendly, knowledgeable about the menu, and helpful (and on point) with their recommendations. This is one place we’ll definitely be visiting again, and let us show you why.

One of our favorites from Addie’s Restaurant was the Corn Cakes with Honey Lemon Ricotta, Blackberry Compote, Toasted Pecans & Maple Syrup. This one caught our attention right of the bat because of the unexpected flavor of the cakes themselves. When you order pancakes, you typically know what you’re in for, but right when we bit into the first one, it tasted like corn bread! So awesome. With the light drizzle of maple syrup and the crunchiness of the pecans, this is definitely something we’re going to order next time.

Next up were the Mc Biscuit Mini’s Sandwiches. These were also knock-your-socks-off good. The biscuits were flaky on the outside and fluffy on the inside, the eggs were perfectly cooked, bacon makes everything better, and the hash browns were nice and crispy, lightly salted and seasoned, and we both devoured this plate in seconds.

Then came the Deluxe Burger, which was prepared with Allen Brothers Ground Beef, Blue Cheese, Caramelized Onions, Roasted Cremini Mushrooms, and French Fries. We can’t ever get enough cheese (sometimes we’ll just eat slices of cheese at home) and the stinkier the better, so the addition of blue cheese made our day. Even for those who aren’t big into its strong flavor, the grilled onions and mushrooms do a good job of balancing things out so we’re confident others would love this one, too.

The next dish we tried was the Prosciutto Mozzarella Sandwich. Prosciutto can compliment a lot of different things (have you tried prosciutto wrapped cantaloupe?) So it’s not surprising that it was a great match for cheese, as well. If you’re a big fan of balsamic vinaigrette, this is definitely the sandwich for you. It’s hearty, filling, and the salad adds a nice refreshing touch to the meal.

Addie’s Mussels were another total standout dish. Originally we were planning to order the Green Curry Mussels, but our server highly recommended these and mentioned that they have been a signature dish since the beginning and are a true staple for many returning customers. Bottom line? We were insanely glad he changed our minds. Granted, it’s hard to go wrong with Addie’s, so we’re absolutely positive the Green Curry Mussels would have been outstanding, as well, but these you just need to try for yourself. Highly, highly recommended!

Finally, we ended the meal with the Ricotta Beignets, which had Ricotta Filling, Powdered Sugar on the outside, and a trio of sauces to choose from with each bite. These were rich, dense, and definitely the dish of choice for anyone with a sweet tooth. Our favorite sauce was the chocolate one, but they also had an apple butter flavored one and a caramel one.

At the end of the meal we left with completely satisfied tummies and nothing but good things to say about our experience. Any of you that are in the area need to try this place out ASAP! Till next time, Nomsters!
