Astro: The Crème Brûlée Doughnut That Will Change Your Life

Nomsters, there are no words.  Donut lovers rejoice because Astro will give you everything you want in life and more!  I can’t believe I waited so long to try their noms.  If you’re looking for bamf donuts in the Capitol, you’re welcome in advance.  Located on 1308 G Street NW, they’re open from Monday-Friday 7:30-5:30, Saturday from 9-5, and Sunday from 9-3.

Why are Astro Doughnuts so good?

Everything’s made from scratch daily so you want to get there sooner rather than later because what if you’re favorite flavor runs out?  They have tons of seasonal options, but these four are available regularly:  vanilla glazed ($2.60), maple bacon ($3.50), PB&J ($3.50), and crème brûlée ($3.50).  Now, your next question should be, “how does their crème brûlée doughnut stack up against District Doughnuts?”  Well friends, I hate to say it – because I also have mad love for DD – but Astro does it better.

The doughnut that will change your life!

Their crème brûlée doughnut was honestly one of the best things I’ve ever eaten in my entire life.   No joke.  It had a crispy exterior but was nice and fluffy on the inside.  The cream filling was just the right amount of sweet, and I honestly couldn’t rave about it more.  Talk about a dessert that’s worth each and every calorie!  Do yourself a favor and get some.

Does Astro sell anything other than doughnuts?

On top of offering bomb doughnuts that will blow your mind, they also do fried chicken.  They have chicken fingers, different combos, and sandwiches available.  And for those of you interested, you can get breakfast sammies until 11:30 and lunch/dinner options afterwards.  Below you can see their Fried Chicken BLT ($9.85).  I got mine on a savory doughnut, but they also have cheddar biscuits and old bay doughnuts available.  For an upcharge, you can get a variety of sauces and/or add ons so go wild, friends.

Although this sandwich was quite delicious, all I can think about is their crème brûlée doughnut.  Yeah, it was that delicious!  Let me know what you guys think of it by leaving a comment below, and make sure you keep an eye out for more bamf DC content.  Until next time, Nomsters!  Happy eating.
