You’ve probably had an ube dessert at a restaurant or dessert shop, but let’s be honest – it’s not their specialty and they’re most likely just trying to hop on the trend by adding something generic to their menu. Well, if you’re truly a fan of ube and/or you’ve tried a dessert here or there and are intrigued by the purple vegetable, you absolutely need to step your game up and try the tasty treats from KS Delights! They’re constantly innovating and creating new dishes, but here are some that we tried and whole-heartedly recommend!
Ube Liege Waffles
These bad boys have bits of pearl sugar baked into them so you get a nice crunch of sweetness with each bite. They also incorporate their homemade ube jam into their batter, and they come with a side of their special ube dipping sauce. The sauce is on the sweeter side, so take that into account before you go to town, but if you have a sweet tooth like we do, it’s a welcome addition. The waffles themselves are baked to perfection with a nice crunchy exterior and soft, warm center.
This was our favorite dessert by far, so if you’re in the bay area and are able to pick up, you NEED to try this one! When it comes to cheesecake, we have to admit, we’re much bigger fans of the dense, rich ones as apposed to the really light and fluffy ones. This one was actually somewhere in the middle in terms of texture, but it had that full-bodied flavor that the dense ones usually have, and ube adds the perfect twist to make it familiar, yet new. The graham cracker crust is handmade with hints of caramelized toffee, and it’s incredible. And finally, it’s all topped with their homemade ube ganache made with white chocolate. Tempted yet?
Ube Cheesecake Bites
Not much needs to be said here – they’re just delicious! They’re definitely the prettiest of everything we tried, and if you’re into cheesecake, but need something a little more portable, these are the perfect alternative.
Ube Crinkle Cookies
This is the product that started it all for KS Delights. Their Ube Crinkles are light and fluffy, and made with their homemade ube jam (halaya). The coating of powdered sugar is just the icing on the cake considering all of that fantastic ube flavor packed into each cookie.
