4 DC Fine Dining Experiences That Are Affordable-Ish

Looking to treat yourself to a night out on the town?  DC’s known for their bomb fine dining scene, and although we love splurging as much as the next, sometimes the $ is a little too hefty, even if it IS a special occasion.  So, for today’s post, we’re highlighting 4 incredible experiences that are affordable…ish.  We have the “ish” there because we know these prices ain’t cheap.  However, they’re reasonable when compared to options that are $250+.

Little Pearl

Located in Capitol Hill, Little Pearl offers a beautiful prix fixe priced at $85 a person.  The food will undoubtedly blow your mind, and the service and ambiance are second to none. Note that starting December 1st, they’ll be switching service up a bit.

There will be two seatings available each night (Wednesday through Saturday), and you’ll start your experience with cocktails at their bar.  You’ll then be seated in their covered conservatory/private dining room and be served courses simultaneously.  It’s NOT a communal experience though so you’ll have your own table.

Everything’s seasonal so they may not have the same items we show today, but to give you an idea of what to expect, recent dinner highlights included their wild Boston bluefin tuna belly with mussel croquettes, hay aged wagyu beef carpaccio, and basque bateau.

Lutéce

We featured them on here a few weeks back, but we still can’t stop raving about this Georgetown gem.  Headed by chef Matt Conroy, Lutéce offers a stunning chef’s table tasting menu priced at $65 (!!!!!) per person, featuring classic and modern French classics.  The exclamations are there because we still can’t believe how affordable it is.

They market it as a 4-course meal, but you get much more than that so expect snacks and other goodies throughout your meal. You don’t need a reason to treat yourself to his culinary magic.

Rooster & Owl

Rooster & Owl is yet another DC favorite!  This one-star restaurant offers a lovely 4-course prix fixe that’s $75 per person, and there’s always at least one vegetarian & pescatarian option available for those of you with dietary restrictions.  Their food’s always imaginative to expect to enjoy staples that are [often] presented with an Asian twist.

Some highlights from our latest dining experience were their octopus ceviche (red onion, avocado, passion fruit vinaigrette), chawanmushi (scallops, marinated salmon roe), and duck breast (red kury, red curry, bok choy).  Their old fashioned chess pie was insane as well!  We’d definitely go back to enjoy that dessert alone.  Courses are meant to be shared so order different plates and enjoy your food family style!

Rose’s Luxury

There’s a reason why Rose’s is a staple in the DC food scene, and it’s because they always hit it out of the ballpark.  Home to “classics” like their pork and lychee salad and coconut caviar ice cream, they consistently crank out exciting dishes that will leave your tastebuds dancing.

They’re currently offering a “choose your own adventure” menu that’s priced at $75 per person Tuesday through Thursday and $85 per person on Fridays and Saturdays.  Each guest chooses 2 dishes, and everything’s enjoyed family style so grab your friends and make a reservation stat for an unforgettable meal everyone will love.  PS.  you also get complimentary bread service and a “slightly-ridiculously-sized dessert.”  Who’s pumped?
