Checking Out Duck Duck Goose DC

Pumped to tell you guys that the amazing chef Ashish Alfred’s opened his 3rd Duck Duck Goose.  I recently had a chance to check out his new location in DC, and I’m super excited to recap my experience for you guys.

As always, the aesthetics were so on point.  The interior was stunning, and the patio area’s just perfect.  Whether you’re catching up with a friend or looking to enjoy date night with your partner, DDG’s a dope option.  Andddd if you’re a food photographer who loves to snap pics of their noms, the patio’s an even sweeter deal.  The lighting was *chef’s kiss* when I went!

To start, I got an order of the broccolini agnolotti, served with almond purée, lemon curd and taleggio.  It was a little on the sweeter side, but I still very much enjoyed it.  I wanted to get a bowl of their French onion soup as well, but it’s not available for dinner so FYI, hit them up for lunch or brunch to enjoy.

All of Duck Duck Goose DC’s entrees sounded great!  There was so much I wanted to try, but I guess that just means I’ll have to go back for round 2 soon.  I ended up getting their duck breast and their DDG burger, and both were solid choices.

I’ve actually had their burger before – at their Baltimore location – and it was as tasty (and rich) as I remember.  It’s topped with blueberry jam, gruyére and foie gras so expect decadence from start to finish.  Really great flavors though.  Highly recommend if you’re looking to enjoy a bougie burger.

The duck breast was really good, and they give you two BIG pieces which surprised me.  This dish comes with carrots and a gooseberry reduction, and the meat’s cooked to tender perfection.  I especially loved how they prepared the skin, and I would 150% get this again.

It doesn’t come with a side though so I got an order of duck fat fries to enjoy with my main.  So, so good.  Quite possibly some of the best fries in the district, and I thoroughly enjoyed the curry aioli dipping sauce as well.

As usual, I was stuffed, but I still got a dessert.  Like the DDG burger, I’ve had their croissant bread pudding before, but it’s something I will truly enjoy so I can never resist.  Whether you like bread pudding or not, I highly recommend giving this a go because they do it so well here.

Alright friends, that’s a wrap for today!  I hope you enjoyed reading about my latest dining experience at Duck Duck Goose DC.  For more on DC eats, make sure to check out this tab, and check back tomorrow for fresh new content.  Robby and I update the Nomtastic Foods blog daily so there’s always something delicious to discover!
