Chicken Wings are an iconic dish for countless occasions such as celebrations, sports watching parties, or even just sharing a basket as you’re catching up with friends. The Bay Area has a bunch of restaurants where you can get some tasty wings, but of all the places we’ve tried, Fire Wings is our favorite. They have a huge selection of wings, sandwiches, sides, and salads that are all super enjoyable, so you can mix and match all kinds of flavors together. If you’ve never been, you need to give them a shot!
I’ll start off with a comparison – Fire Wings’ wings are way better than Wingstop’s, and the perfect example is their garlic parmesan flavor. Fire Wings goes pretty heavy handed with the parmesan, and that adds so much flavor that the Wingstop version simply lacks. The other flavors are just as bold, which outshine their counterparts at Wingstop, as well. Speaking of flavors, Fire Wings offers 20, whereas Wingstop only has 11. So if you’re looking for bolder flavors, a wider selection, and just flat out tastier wings, this is going to become your new spot.
Chili Cheese Fries
I know what you’re probably thinking. Why are Chili Cheese Fries one of your recommendations when it’s such a run-of-the-mill dish? Well, it’s their crispy fries! How sad is it whenever you get soggy fries with you chili and cheese? It just becomes a mushy mess. But Fire Wings seasons their fries and makes them nice and crispy before loading on the chili and cheese so they stay that way for a long time after you receive them. It adds that crunchy texture that you’re normally missing, which makes the entire experience exponentially better.
Fire Wings’ Garlic Noodles
This was the biggest shocker by far. First off, I didn’t expect to even find garlic noodles at a wings joint, but more importantly, I was surprised at how amazing they were! The noodles had a great, springy consistency, and they had the perfect complimentary balance of garlic and parmesan to make every bite as delicious as the first.
Nashville Tender Fries
If you’re the type that can’t ever get enough spiciness, Fire Wings’ Nashville Tender Fries are for you! You can actually choose among 4 spice levels, but I just went straight for level 4. It was definitely spicy, but not so much that you can’t enjoy the other flavors from the chicken tenders, their house sauce, cheese, and fries.
