If you’re based in the DMV area and you’re looking to eat clean on the regular, Healthy Fresh Meals may just be nom service of your dreams. Founded in 2016, their team of professionally trained chefs focus on providing clean eats made with fresh, locally sourced ingredients.
They have a large menu to choose from, and it changes weekly so there’s always something new to try. They deliver directly to homes in the DMV area but have since expanded to offices, universities and more.
Deliveries are only made on Sundays from 8AM-8PM, and this is how it works. You receive a text message and email confirmation by Saturday with your delivery time frame with a link to track your order. If you have any special instructions (ex. door codes, cooler locations, and more), make sure to leave them a note.
Their menu’s divided into seven different categories: main entrees, athlete menu, low carb options, family meals, breakfast, snacks & desserts, and groceries. With dishes like turkey stuffed sweet potato and butternut squash lasagna, they’re making clean eating sound pretty damn delicious.
We had the pleasure of trying a handful of different items, and our personal favorites were their shredded BBQ chicken and their turkey chili and jalapeño cornbread combo.
All their food comes neatly packaged in a tray that’s microwavable, and all you have to do is heat it up! Leave it in for a minute, stir, and then warm it for another 1-2 minutes before getting your nom on.
Pricing’s reasonable, and each entree costs anywhere from 10 to 15 bucks. Family meals are obviously more expensive, but they’re meant to feed 4 so that’s expected. Sides range from 5-10 bucks depending on what you get so definitely make sure to take a look see to stock up.
