How-To Make Hard Apple Cider At Home

Nomsters, you guys are in for a treat because Chris Singlemann is back at it with another video.  This fall-friendly clip is going to give you all the feels, especially if you like cider as much as we do.  So, if you want to take things up a notch, keep watching because Chris is gonna drop some serious knowledge on y’all today.

So, what’s better than cider?  Hard cider, duh.  All you need is a mason jar, a fermentation lid and airlock, apple cider (without preservatives), a champagne or wine yeast and sanitizer.  Start by sanitizing everything the cider will touch to kill off any natural bacteria or yeast that will throw off your process.

Heat up a cup of your cider between 100-105 degrees, then pour it into your mason jar.  He adds a quarter teaspoon of yeast, but you can go up to a half!  The heated cider helps proof the yeast and gets it’s nice and foamy to kickstart the fermentation process, and after 5 minutes or so, add the rest of your cider leaving a little room at top so it can breathe.  To learn more about how to make a bomb hard cider at home, watch Chris’ video.

Thanks for tuning in today, frands!  We hope you enjoyed learning about hard cider, and we want to see you back soon.  If you missed Chris’ last video on the ramos gin fizz, definitely make sure to take a look-see.
