DC Nomsters, have you heard? The Fried Rice Collective’s come out with a new concept called I Egg You, and it’s damn tasty. We’d be lying if we said we were surprised though – what do you expect from the culinary minds behind ChiKo, Anju and Mandu? Yeah, trust us when we say you wanna get there and experience all the eggy deliciousness they have to offer.
They’re slingin’ all the breakfast noms from ChiKo Cap Hill, and they’re open on Saturdays and Sundays from 8AM to 1PM. Their menu’s straightforward and simple, and it consists of scrumptious sandwiches, good ol’ fashioned taters, local coffee, and of course, booze. Because who wouldn’t want to enjoy bellini out of an adorable coral bottle to go along with their impeccably branded egg sammie?
They have 5 different sandwiches available along with 2 open faced griddlers. It’s hard to pick favorites, but we recommend “The Original Egg.” It’s griddled O Bakery milk bread, a perfectly cooked brown butter egg, and melty fontina cheese that’s only $5 a pop.
Want to top yours with confit sausage? Get their “Pork, It’s What’s for Breakfast.” Prefer to eat all the bacon? “You Bacon Me Crazy” is the sammie for you. Looking to satisfy your sweet tooth? Opt for “I Like My Breakfast Sweet” aka O Bakery’s milk bread stuffed with nutella, banana and walnuts. ‘Nuff said.
Breakfast wouldn’t be complete without a solid side, which is why they offer 3 different kinds of breakfast potatoes. Choose from basic, somewhat loaded, and OMG. So what’s the difference you ask? Basic’s made with crispy fried brekkie ‘toes topped with Old Bay aioli and parsley, Somewhat’s your basic pots with cheese sauce, sausage or bacon bits and candied jalapeños, and OMG is your somewhat loaded pots with a brown butter fried egg on top. Boom! Carbs have never been sexier.
So, who’s excited to go and get their egg on? Order online via toast – yes, it’s ChiKo Cap Hill’s toast, but you can get both on there. Just set your pickup date to the weekend/your preferred time, and I Egg You’s menu should pop up.
Alright Nomsters, that’s it for today. We hope you enjoyed reading all about this bomb new breakfast place! Let us know if you have any questions, and make sure to check out our Washington DC tab for more. We update Nomtastic Foods every day so there’s always somethin’ new to see.
