Description
Crispy air fryer imitation crab bites wrap crab sticks in rice paper and brush them with sesame oil for a quick, crunchy snack that stays warm and soft inside. Ready in about 25 minutes with a garlic or sriracha mayo dip.
Ingredients
Scale
- 6 Imitation Crab sticks
- 3 sheets rice paper
- 1 tbsp Sesame Oil
- garlic mayo (optional, for dipping)
- Kewpie Mayo and Sriracha (optional, for a quick sriracha mayo)
Equipment
Instructions
- Preheat your air fryer to 350F. Fill a dinner plate with water.
- Dip a sheet of rice paper in the water for a couple seconds and lay it flat on a cutting board. Place two imitation crab sticks end to end near the edge and roll them up snugly.
- Use kitchen scissors to cut each roll into 6 pieces (about 3 per stick).
- Brush or spray the air fryer tray with sesame oil. Place the bites on the tray in a single layer, then brush or spray the tops with more sesame oil.
- Air fry at 350F for 15 minutes, until golden and crispy.
- Set out your dip: store-bought garlic mayo, or a quick sriracha mayo made by stirring Sriracha into Kewpie Mayo to taste.
- Serve hot and enjoy.
Notes
- Soak the rice paper only a couple seconds; it keeps softening on the board and gets sticky if over-soaked.
- Roll tight so the bites hold their shape when sliced.
- Brush both the tray and the tops with sesame oil for even golden color.
- Keep the bites in a single layer with space between them so they crisp instead of steam.
- Best served hot; reheat leftovers in the air fryer, not the microwave.
