King's Hawaiian pizza slider being pulled apart with long cheese strings stretching from the golden roll

These Pepperoni Pizza Sliders are unbelievable! 🤯

They’re kind of like bagel bites (remember those?!) but a billion times better! I feel like all these ingredients are amazing by themselves, and when you combine them, it’s like a harmony of angels in your mouth 🍕

You’re basically slicing 12 delicious King’s Hawaiian rolls lengthwise, layering with pizza sauce, lots of mozzarella, and pepperonis, and then slathering the entire thing in a homemade spicy garlic butter. Holy. 🐮.

King’s Hawaiian rolls are a secret weapon for more than just savory bakes, too. If you want to see what they do on the sweet side, these King’s Hawaiian Cream Cheese Danishes turn the same rolls into a pull-apart pastry that is shockingly good for how easy it is.

For a completely different savory direction, this King’s Hawaiian Tamago Sando turns the same rolls into a Japanese egg salad sandwich with Kewpie mayo, and it comes together in minutes.

Also, if you’re looking for an awesome pizza sauce, check out the unsweetened one from Primal Kitchen Foods! 🙌 I’m not affiliated with or getting paid by them, I just really love their products.

Shredded mozzarella being sprinkled over a layer of tomato sauce on split King's Hawaiian rolls

INGREDIENTS

SLIDERS

12 King’s Hawaiian Rolls
1/2 cup Primal Kitchen Unsweetened Pizza Sauce
16 oz shredded mozzarella
12 pepperonis

GARLIC BUTTER

1/2 cup unsalted butter
3 garlic cloves (minced)
1 tsp red pepper flakes
1 tsp oregano

INSTRUCTIONS:

1️⃣ Preheat your oven to 350 degrees. Line a baking pan with parchment paper and then slice your 12 King’s Hawaiian Rolls lengthwise so you have a bottom half and top half. Don’t break them apart! Place the bottom half into the pan.
2️⃣ In a small microwave-safe mixing bowl, melt the butter, then mix in the minced garlic, red pepper flakes, and oregano. Then, brush 1/3 to 1/2 of it onto the top of the bottom half of the rolls.
3️⃣ Spoon the pizza sauce on top and spread evenly across.
4️⃣ Layer the mozzarella on top evenly across.
5️⃣ Add one pepperoni per roll on top of the cheese (or more if you’d like).
6️⃣ Place the top half of the rolls on top of everything, and then brush on the rest of the garlic butter.
7️⃣ Cover the sliders with a sheet of tin foil to protect the rolls from burning, and place into the oven for 30 minutes. Then, take the tin foil off and cook for another 2-3 minutes.
8️⃣ Enjoy!

Instructions

  1. Prep the rolls. Preheat the oven to 350F. Line a baking pan with parchment and slice the 12 rolls lengthwise into a connected top and bottom half (do not pull them apart). Place the bottom half in the pan.
  2. Make the garlic butter. Melt the butter in a small microwave-safe bowl, then mix in the minced garlic, red pepper flakes, and oregano. Brush a third to half of it over the bottom half of the rolls.
  3. Sauce. Spoon the pizza sauce on top and spread it evenly.
  4. Cheese. Layer the mozzarella evenly across.
  5. Pepperoni. Add one pepperoni per roll over the cheese, or more if you like.
  6. Top. Set the top half of the rolls back on and brush with the remaining garlic butter.
  7. Bake. Cover with foil to protect the rolls and bake 30 minutes. Remove the foil and bake 2 to 3 minutes more.
  8. Serve. Pull apart and enjoy.

Notes

  • Covering with foil keeps the tops from burning while the cheese melts; uncover at the end for color.
  • Slice into individual sliders only after a few minutes of resting so the cheese sets.
