When Profiles PR invited us to come try the new brunch menu at LB Bakery, we VERY happily obliged. Not sure if you guys remember, but when we interviewed Like the Tea Eats for our United Tastes of America series, she raved about LB Bakery, and said that they had “some of the prettiest pastries in the city.” Well, we’re kind of kicking ourselves for not getting there sooner because she was totally right. Better late than never though, right?
Located on the corner of Baltimore and Hanover streets, LB Bakery is open from 6:30AM to 9PM, Monday through Sunday. They currently offer sandwiches and salads in addition to their famous pastries, but they’re adding some fabulous new options to their menu. We had the pleasure of taste testing everything, and we’re beyond pumped to walk you guys through it all.
Course 1: Their Belgian Waffles. Two sweet waffles topped with maple syrup, fresh berries and powdered sugar. This dish was cooked to crispy perfection, and we couldn’t get enough. This was definitely one of our favorites from the day!
Can we just talk about presentation for a sec? This plate is almost too beautiful to eat.
Course 2: Their Garden Omelet. Stuffed with spinach, tomato, peppers, onions and goat cheese, and served with a side of breakfast potatoes. We’re not big into omelettes, but this was on point. Adding goat cheese was SUCH a good call – the creaminess complemented the fluffiness perfectly (of the eggs), and the veggies gave the dish just the right amount of texture.

Course 3: Their Smoked Salmon Bagel. Scottish smoked salmon served with chopped egg, scallions, capers, red onion, and cream cheese. We went with their everything bagel, but plain was also an option. You can see how we built ours down below!
We’re a sucker for build-your-own plates.
Course 4: Their Grilled Cheese. Made with 3 different cheeses on buttery brioche goodness, served with a side of fries.
Course 5: Their Fish and Chips. Battered and fried cod fish served with house fries, lemon and remoulade.
Course 6: Their Jumbo Lump Crab Cake Sandwich. A delicious crab cake served on a toasted brioche bun with lettuce, tomato, and remoulade served with a house brined pickle and fries. Deliciously meaty and perfect for lunch or dinner!
We were stuffed after 6 courses, but pastry chef Mary Elizabeth Plovanich brought out a bunch of different desserts soooo we ended up taking one of each home to photograph and sample! We actually shared a video of us demolishing one yesterday on instagram – yay for lemon-y goodness. More shots to come so keep an eye out, Nomsters!
