Now Open! Bindaas Bowls and Rolls Penn Quarter

I’m SO excited to tell you guys about this new spot in Penn Quarter.  Although I love Bindaas, this was my first time visiting their fast casual restaurant, bindaas Bowls and Rolls.  This carryout concept offers seating for 35, and the menu’s crafted by the amaaaaazing Vikram Sunderam.

Their food’s divided into 6 different categories:  classic bowls, kathi rolls, sandwiches & burgers, curry puffs, snacks and desserts.  I got to try a variety of different items, and everything was ridiculously tasty.  SO, here’s everything I ordered:

Both bowls were absolutely fantastic, but note, they don’t come with veggies so be prepared to pay a small upcharge of $2 for sides.  I enjoyed the tikka more than the vindaloo meatballs, but both proteins were solid.

As for starters, I got one curry puff + samosas (2 per order).  The puff was flaky as can be, and the filling was hearty and flavorful – 10/10 recommend!  The samosas were a bit more standard but still good so again, highly recommend if you’d like to get your fix.

The lassi was amazing, think super creamy and cool, and the dessert was surprisingly good.  I didn’t think I’d enjoy it as much as I did, so trust me when I say it’s definitely worth the splurge.  Next time, I really want to try their sticky toffee pudding.

For those of you looking for a new lunch spot in the Penn Quarter area, head to bindaas Bowls and Rolls stat.  The quality’s really on POINT, and I promise you’ll leave happy and full.  Make sure to let me know what you think when you go, and in the meantime, head to my Washington, DC tab to read more about nomtastic eats in the district.  Until then, happy eating, friends!
