Pike Kitchen: The Hot New Asian Food Hall in Rockville, MD

If you’re looking for solid asian cuisine in the DMV, your best bet is Rockville, Centreville or Annandale.  When we found out a new asian food hall opened up in Rockville, we couldn’t resist checking it out.  Pike Kitchen has 8 different stalls with everything from Korean to Vietnamese food so there’s something for everyone.  We tried each stall – ’cause that’s how we roll – and we can’t wait to tell you about our faves.

Let’s start with PK Chicken & Beer.  We didn’t get any beer – it was lunch after all – but their spicy basil chicken was amazeballs, like we’re not joking.  You need these nomtastic morsels of deliciousness in your tummy stat.  For $7.95, they gave us a good amount of their signature boneless popcorn chicken bites.  To be honest, we were skeptical when they told us it was spicy, but the sauce actually had a good kick to it.  If you’re not great with hot noms, definitely keep a glass of milk nearby.  The chicken was fried to crispy perfection and drenched in sauce (which we were totally cool with because it really was good).  We’d go back for this platter alone!

Also, make sure you guys save room for dessert because Monster Tea is legit.  We tried their matcha rose latte, and it was REALLY delicious – subtle and not too sweet.  We also got pastries from their bakery, and everything was on point.  We’ve never had a mochi donut before, but it’s so worth the moolah.  We can’t recommend it enough!  It was soft and chewy, and the chocolate glaze was the cherry on top.

This was also delicious, but we don’t remember what this pastry was called.  It was like a sugary croissant with cream filling – yeah, so much yum in our tum.  They had a ton of other baked goods as well so we’re excited to try more the next time we go.  So, what did you guys think of our favorites?  What looked good to you?  And are you a fan of food halls or nah?  Let us know by leaving us a comment below, and make sure to check back on Thursday for more foodporn.  Until then, browse our MD tab for more droolworthy content!
