Rangoli: The Best Indian Food in Hanover, MD

A while back, we told you all about Prino’s, a family-run Mediterranean restaurant, located in Hanover, MD.  We mentioned that we’d be writing a guide on the best eats in the area, but we haven’t had a chance to throw that together yet.  So instead, we’ll be spotlighting another fab restaurant in the meantime to tide you over.

Located in 7791-C Arundel Mills Boulevard, Rangoli is a charming Indian restaurant currently offers contactless pickup and delivery.  We used to hit them up all the time for their dope lunch buffet, but thanks to COVID, that’s no longer an option.

Lucky for us though, we still get to enjoy their noms in the comfort of our home.  Unsure what to get?  Here are some bangers that will hit the spot each and every time.

What to Order at Rangoli

Lamb Vindaloo

If you’re craving something spicy, this dish is an absolute must try.  We like to get it with lamb, but you can sub that out with chicken, shrimp or salmon.  Your protein of choice is cooked in a hot and sour curry sauce with potatoes and served with a generous serving of basmati rice.

Butter Chicken

It’s usually a toss up for us when it comes to butter chicken and chicken tikka masala, but we like this dish a slight bit more at Rangoli.  Think juicy pieces of chicken cooked in a tangy tomato curry that’s as creamy as can be.

Call us basic, but this entree will forever be a favorite.  If you’re trying Indian for the first time, we can pretty much guarantee you’ll love this dish so give this baby a try.

Palak Paneer

If you’re looking for a solid vegetarian option, and you love spinach, give this plate a try!  It’s fresh homemade Indian cheese that’s gently cooked with garden spinach and spices.

Like the aforementioned entrees, it’s served with long grain basmati rice that’s flavored with cardamom and saffron.  Think of it as Indian style creamed spinach for all intents and purposes!  The cheese looks like tofu, but it has a wonderful texture to it.  We recommend asking for a side of hot sauce to add some heat to the mix!

Bread Basket

You’re not getting the full experience unless you get naan with your meal so go all out and get a bread basket with a combo of plain naan, garlic naan and roti.  There’s nothing tastier than hand tossed bread that’s freshly baked in a tandoori clay oven.

They have all kinds of options available – everything from chili naan to naan stuffed with homemade cottage cheese – so definitely make sure to take a look before getting your order on.

Looking to end your meal on a sweet note?  Get an order of their Gulab Jamun (dry milk balls served in a delish rose flavored syrup) or rice pudding for dessert!  Their mango lassi (basically an Indian mango and yogurt smoothie) is also scrumptious so consider getting an order of that as well.

Alright Nomsters, that’s it for today’s post!  We hope you enjoyed reading all about Rangoli on our latest.  To enjoy their food, click here to order via Grubhub and keep an eye out for more.  We update Monday-Thursday + Saturday so there’s always something new to drool over!  Hope to see y’all back soon – happy eating, friends.
