One of our favorite foods in the world is burgers, so we absolutely love discovering new burger joints to try! However, if you’re a Bay Area native, Roam Artisan Burgers is hardly a newcomer to the food scene. With 6 locations spanning SF, Oakland, Lafayette, San Mateo, and San Ramon, there’s no reason not to head out and grab a bite.
What’s so cool about Roam is how unique their various burgers are! They also put out seasonal items so be on the lookout for those. Let’s dig in and see what you’ve been missing in your life!
Roam Artisan Burgers doesn’t just make unique burgers – their fries are second to none! You can order these individually for $3.99 each, or you can order what they call the Fry-fecta (we love that name btw), which includes all 3 for a discounted price of $8.99. We recommend this option for sure even if you’re going in solo!
The first item technically isn’t fries, but rather their take on thin, crispy onion rings, which they call the Zucchini Onion Haystack. It obviously includes onions and zucchinis and was topped with their Chipotle Maple seasoning. Unlike some other seasoned fries from other places, these are coated and full of so much flavor. We couldn’t stop shoveling these into our mouths!
Next up were their Sweet Potato Fries, which were seasoned with their Truffle Parmesan. The savoriness of the seasoning mixed with the sweetness of the sweet potato fries was the perfect combination, so we highly recommend pairing the two!
Lastly, were their Russet Fries that were seasoned with their seasonal red curry with coconut lime dipping sauce. The regular fries really brought out the flavor of the red curry since it didn’t have to compete with the stronger flavors of the sweet potato fries or the zucchini onion haystack, and there was a nice little kick, too!
French N’ Fries
Finally, the burgers! One of the most unique ones Roam Artisan Burgers has to offer is the French N’ Fries, which literally has fries inside it! Mind blown. It’s made with Truffle Parmesan Fries, Gruyère, Avocado, Caramelized Onions, Watercress, Piquant Sauce, and Whole Grain Mustard. We’re big fans of burgers with ample cheese, and they definitely aren’t skimpy with it, so that’s two thumbs up from us!
The BBQ burger is another great choice that’s crafted with Aged White Cheddar, BBQ Sauce, Caramelized Onions, Jalapeño Relish, and Oil & Vinegar Slaw. It’s amazing how well everything fits together, but our favorite elements are definitely the sweetness that the caramelized onion rings add and the texture that the slaw brings.
The Sunny Side is more your typical burger, but Roam Artisan Burgers threw a sunny side up egg right smack in the middle. The whole burger consists of an Organic Pasture Raised Egg, Fontina, Caramelized Onions, Greens, Tomato, and Chili Sauce. You can never go wrong with tons of cheese and that runny egg yolk, so if that’s your thing, it’s worth considering when you go!
