Rusty Scupper: AYCE & Bottomless Mimosas

Alright Nomsters, a $44 brunch may seem pricy, but it’s really not, especially when you’re getting quality food that’s all-you-can-eat. Oh, did we mention that it’s bottomless mimosas, bellinis, and Champagne as well?  Yeah, Rusty Scupper doesn’t mess around.  You’re going to be getting some serious bang for your buck – just remember to wear your fave pair of stretchy pants.

We started our meal off with coffee and drinks. We didn’t get to try their champagne or hot rum cider, but we’re assuming those were delish as well.  The cider’s a fall-winter offering for those of you wondering – they serve sangria during the spring-summer to keep things seasonal.  Coffee, juice and soft drinks are included in the $44 price so get whatever you want.  We munched on freshly made beignets while sipping on our cocktails.  We had a table by the window, and the view enhanced our experience tenfold.  We now see why Rusty Scupper’s on Open Table’s, “Top 100 Restaurants with a View.”

Their brunch is gi-NOR-mous.  They have different stations set up throughout the restaurant.  Here’s a shot of one below featuring smoked salmon with jumbo prawns, bagels, and the like.  The one right next it had blue point oysters, and someone was shucking them fresh on the spot – we enjoyed them with cocktail sauce and horseradish.  They also had a belgian waffle station with an array of sweet & fruity toppings and a hand carved meats station with prime rib, ham, and BBQ ribs.  We, of course, tried all three and loved them.

The main buffet line had the more “basic” foods – think scrambled eggs, bacon, old bay home fries, sausage, different salads, fresh fish, and so on and so forth.  Standouts included baked chicken with hummus and pumpkin grits.  Holy crap were the pumpkin grits good.  We’d seriously go back for them alone, and we may or may not have had an entire plate of just that. #dontjudge #youwouldvetoo #insertweaklaughter

A shot of house made breakfast breads, bagels, and pastries.  You guys know how we feel about carbs, the more the merrier.  We kind of wanted to just walk out of Rusty Scupper with a tray of these babies, but we reluctantly exercised some self-control.  On a random (but not to random) note, let’s discuss muffins versus cinnamon rolls.  Andddd go!

More food.  We went back several times to get more noms because we were hungry, and the food was delish!

The dessert table was located next to the bar, and there were tons of yummy sweets available.  They had cookies, cakes, pies, bread pudding, you name it!  Their pumpkin roll and creme brûlée were standouts though.  We highly recommend getting both to indulge – they’re not overly sweet so you won’t feel disgusting afterwards.

If you’re interested in brunching at Rusty Scupper, you’ll definitely need to make a reservation in advance because they they get PACKED.  They have 2 seatings on Sunday, one from 10:30-12-:30 or 1-2:30, and they validate parking for their lot.  You’ll still have to pay a $9 fee, which is “eh,” but it’s convenient.  Plus, you have the option of walking along the harbor to digest afterwards, which is nice.  We definitely took advantage because it was beautiful out!  Alright guys, we hope you enjoyed our latest.  How many of y’all are AYCE buffet fans?
