Shake Shack’s New “Wake and Shake” With Oakland’s Red Bay Coffee

Shake Shack always seems to impress us with the way they join and support the communities in which they open. We’ve been to multiple events put on by them at their various locations in the Bay Area, but the recent one in Oakland was, by far, the most awesome yet. The event was to kick off a limited time shake they’re offering through April 25th, 2022 in collaboration with Oakland’s own Red Bay Coffee. They had live music and visual arts from local artists including Oakland School of the Arts, and really celebrated Oakland in the process. And better yet, they donated 100% of proceeds from the Wake and Shake to a local art non-profit, The People’s Conservatory, which supports art education in the East Bay!

Wake and Shake

The shake is a deliciously refreshing mix of Red Bay Coffee, vanilla frozen custard, maple syrup, and orange zest, and topped with whipped cream and orange candies. You really taste the coffee flavor, so if you’re a big caffeine consumer like us, this could be right down your alley. The orange zest is very subtle, but it adds a lightness and touch of citrus that makes the overall flavor super unique.

If you’re looking for some food to balance out the sweetness, my go-to is always the Shack Stack, which is a cheeseburger topped with a Shroom Burger with lettuce, tomato, and ShackSauce, as well as the Bacon Cheese Fries, crafted with Shake Shack’s own cheese sauce and applewood-smoked bacon.
