Description
Smoky, sweet, and savory air fryer teriyaki salmon jerky. Smoked salmon crisps into a chewy, high-protein snack brushed with Japanese teriyaki sauce in under 10 minutes.
Ingredients
Scale
- 12 small smoked salmon pieces
- 1 tbsp Bachan's Japanese Dipping Sauce
Equipment
Instructions
- Load the air fryer. Place the smoked salmon pieces in the air fryer basket. If yours come in large fillets, tear them into smaller, jerky-sized pieces first.
- Dry them out. Air fry at 375 F for about 5 to 6 minutes, until they start to darken and look drier.
- Brush with sauce. Open the air fryer and brush the salmon with Bachan’s Japanese Dipping Sauce. Adding it now keeps it from burning.
- Finish crisping. Return to the air fryer for another 2 to 3 minutes.
- Cool and stiffen. Transfer to a wire rack to cool. The pieces firm up as they cool.
- Snack away. Enjoy on their own or add them to a snack board.
Notes
- Brush the sauce on near the end, not at the start, so the sugars do not scorch.
- Tear salmon into uniform pieces so they dry at the same rate.
- They finish soft and stiffen as they cool, so pull them a touch early rather than late.
- Try a spicier sauce if you want heat.
- Store airtight in the fridge and eat within a few days.
