The Dorian: Next Level Brunch in SF

Just a few blocks down from another one of our favorites, Balboa Cafe, is The Dorian, which has some of the yummiest brunch dishes in the Marina. Their sister restaurant is Palm House, which is another fun spot, but just between us, we like The Dorian’s food better. Aside from great food, they have some of the nicest staff we’ve ever encountered in the city, so it’s a pleasant experience all around. But I’ll stop yappin’ and get to what we know you all came here for… the food!

Ahi Poke Tacos

Poke tacos always get us excited, but these were especially good, and it all comes down to the taco shell. They’re made with crispy wontons, and that makes all the difference when you compare them to other places that use tortillas. It’s just not the same. The ahi is mixed with smoked shoyu, pineapple, jicama, umeboshi, avocado and Thai Basil, which really gives the tacos a bold, well-rounded flavor rather than just tuna, scallions, and a sauce.

Ricotta Pancakes

Ricotta Pancakes are another favorite in general because of how dense and rich they are, and The Dorian does an awesome job preparing these. Our only gripe is that it’s only 3 pancakes! They’re layered with berry compote, brown sugar streusel, and vermont maple syrup for a sweet and satisfying morning treat.

Billionaire’s Breakfast Burrito

If you want to be totally full and satisfied, this is the item for you. This fantastic breakfast burrito is filled with diced billionaire’s bacon, black beans, scrambled eggs, pico, guacamole, house-made sour cream, ranchero salsa, and home fries. Who can say no to billionaire’s bacon? Not us.

Dorian Chicken Sliders

These bad boys come in a set of 3 and are made with buttermilk marinated fried chicken, citrus cabbage slaw, and charred jalapeno aioli all between a sweet Hawaiian roll. You can also choose to make it spicy with their house-made Nashville spicy rub!

Dorian Burger

Not much to say about this one since the photo speaks for itself. You want a fully loaded burger? The Dorian’s got you. The Dorian Burger is made with their fancy sauce, white cheddar, and onion-bacon jam and served with fries. You can take this burger to the next level (which we highly recommend) by adding avocado, bacon, and an egg for a few extra bucks, too!
