The Little Chihuahua: Mexican Food with a Twist

If you’re looking for awesome Mexican food that’s a bit classed up and not the usual burrito in some foil, The Little Chihuahua needs to be your go-to spot! All the dishes look and taste delicious, and they have several locations in SF so you’re bound to have one close to you. The staff is kind, and they have a large selection of foods to choose from, so feast with you eyes and let’s get into it!

First up, at the Little Chihuahua we had the cheese enchiladas. The spices were on point, it was nice, warm and soft, and came with two different sauces – the red and the green. Our personal favorite was the green, but you seriously can’t go wrong with either. Black beans are also our jam so we were super down with the little bowl that came with it.

After that, we got to try the carne asada tostada salad and that was straight bomb.com. It’s rare to find a salad that can be both refreshing AND hearty and filling. But this one definitely did the trick. The steak was on point and satisfied the carnivore in us, while the veggies kept things light. Overall, an awesome mix!

Then, the tortilla soup was brought out and wow, it was good! The only thing to be aware of is that it’s definitely on the spicy side. Fortunately, we love spicy food so we couldn’t have been more excited to taste it. Some reverse blows were, for sure, in order, though. But the flavor was amazing and we’d totally recommend it.

Lastly, we washed everything down with The Little Chihuahua ‘s sangria. It’s not very common that you’d find something like this at a Mexican restaurant in SF, but it went so well with everything we had. The wine and the sweetness from the fruit counteracted some of the spiciness and saltiness from the meal, so if you’re stopping by for dinner (or if you’re trying to get hyphy at lunch time), cop one or two of these and you won’t regret it!

Till next time, Nomsters!
