The other day we had the awesome opportunity to try out a few items off the menu from Toasty, the original avocado toast bar in San Francisco, CA. Located at 2760 Octavia Street in Cow Hollow, Toasty is one of those amazing spots that doesn’t try to spread themselves thin with a menu that’s too big to do well. Instead, they focus in on one thing and make it incredible. That one thing, you ask? Avocado toast.
The very first thing we noticed as everything was being brought out was the focus on presentation. Every plate was straight up beautiful! The first avocado toast we had – and definitely our fave – was the Eggy Toasty. The dish consists of avocado, poached egg, rainbow mix, ground pepper, and paprika. Our tactic was to just bite right into the toast and egg and let the yolk pour out over the rest. It was very successful.
The next one was the Salmon Toasty, which consisted of avocado, smoked salmon, cucumber, onions, capers, and lemon. If you’re looking for a lighter, refreshing snack, this is the toast for you. The crispness of the cucumber with the accent of the capers make this a memorable take on the popular avocado toast.
Finally, we got the Bruschetta Toasty, which is made of avocado, cherry tomatoes, mozzarella, basil, and balsamic glaze. Balsamic is one of our favorite things, so combine that with a more traditional avocado toast and you can’t go wrong. This one was refreshing and a little less filling than the other two, so if you just want a snack, we’d totally recommend scarfing down one of these.
Till next time, Nomsters!
