Name:  VAFoodie

State: Virginia

Where to:

1. Grab brunch with your friendsCommune in Virginia Beach and Norfolk.  Commune is a great place to take foodies who care about the quality and sourcing of their ingredients. This place is the epitome of what local in VA means. Their breakfast sandwiches and buckwheat crepes are loaded with ingredients grown on their own farm and sourced locally, and it’s just beautiful food.

2. Satisfy late night cravingsGWARbar in Richmond.  Don’t let the the fake blood-splattered decorated bar scare you (all of the decor and menu items are inspired by the heavy metal band Gwar.) GWARbar is open until 2 a.m. 7 days a week serving all types of pubfare for those late night cravings that will definitely hit the spot.

3.  Splurge $$$ on a killer meal:  Field and Main in Marshall.  Field and Main’s mission is to “clear away unnecessary distractions and make space for relationships – with people, the land, and the products that come from it” and they do just that. Even though we say splurge, its not actually too pricey. It’s just the fact that you are going to want to order everything on the menu, and you should. You must try anything cooked from the hearth right there in the dining room.

4.  Go for date night: Oakhart Social in Charlottesville.  Oakhart Social is the definition of everything great in modern southern cooking. Cocktails are always on point. Every plate that comes out is better than the other. Ideal for date nights because you are going to want to share and taste everything that comes from the kitchen there, and the experience is designed to be that way. The ambiance is very cool and the patio is very chill. Oakhart rocks on so many levels.

5.  Eat cleanNorth End Juice Company in Richmond.  If you’re looking for fresh-pressed juices, flavor packed acai bowls and smoothies or just downright tasty salads, North End is your place to go. One of their locations is a cute sidewalk juice bar, so you can stroll up on foot and take your juice to go.

6.  Enjoy coffee/tea with a friend:  Espresso Bar In Winchester.  Ok, we are a bit bias here. For one this place is where we walk to from our office to go get a great coffee. Two, we love a creamy latte and Espresso Bar knocks it out of the park on that front. Try a lavender latte or one of their delicious teas. No frills just honest and great, there is a A LOT to be said about quality and consistency when it comes to serving up caffeine.

7.  Dine on a budget:  The Bee and the Biscuit in Virginia Beach.  Take one look at The Bee and the Biscuit’s instagram page and you’ll be sold on their colorful brunch spreads and killer decadent lattes. The best part of it all is that their prices are super affordable and their menu is huge, so you can keep going back for more.

8.  Find the best happy hour deals:  FOODBARFOOD in Harrisonburg.  FoodBarFood in Harrisonburg has happy hour every day from 4-6pm and trust us, you will want to be there for it once you see the cocktails they’re creating. We’re constantly inspired by their seasonal cocktail menus and pictures on Instagram.

9.  Eat for the gram:  Eurasia in Virginia Beach.  Fine dining never looked so good at Eurasia Cafe in Virginia Beach. This is the ultimate place to share pics of your meals with friends, and maybe even order a dish or two exclusively for the gram.

10.  Go with a large group:  En Su Boca in Richmond.  Push some tables together on this patio and grub out on some tex mex tacos, chips and salsa, and margs all night long.
