Not everything life-changing in the kitchen is super expensive. Over the years I’ve found a bunch of cheap kitchen gadgets that have been serious game-changers, and so I thought I’d put together a running list of useful kitchen tools that most anyone can afford. I’m really big on optimizing my time and workflow, so even small time saves really make a difference. They’re perfect if you want to speed up your food prep, and they make great gifts for the foodies in your life! As I find new gadgets and tools I’ll be sure to update this list!

1. Snap-On Pot Strainer

This snap-on strainer really speeds up my pasta making and vegetable boiling! This makes it so you don’t need to worry about a whole separate strainer and making room in your sink or counter to place it. You just snap it onto the pot you’re using and pour out the used water. Done.

2. Vegetable Dicer

This one is pretty self-explanatory, but awesome nonetheless! I’m fully capable of chopping up my own vegetables, but I’m not especially quick with a knife. And since I love anything that can save me some time, I bought this vegetable dicer to test out and have been using it consistently since then! You just make a few quick chops and put the large chunks into the device and press down, and it perfectly chops everything to the size you choose and dumps it all into the container underneath.

3. Garlic Press

Garlic presses are nothing new, but the design of this one is what I absolutely love because it’s so fast to use! With traditional garlic presses you have to put the garlic into the little slot, line up the piece that pushes it through the little holes, uncomfortably squeeze to force it out, and repeat. With this brilliantly simple device you just push down on the garlic on a cutting board, and you’re done! So simple, yet game-changing.

4. 5-Blade Herb Scissors

Mincing or dicing quickly with a knife can sometimes make me a little uneasy, so I was super excited to find these 5-blade herb scissors. It helps to speed up the workflow without the risk of cutting myself.

5. Ground Meat Chopper

This is one of those cheap kitchen tools that I never knew I needed until I tried it. I used to cut up ground beef using a silicon spatula, but that was hard to use and sometimes wouldn’t chop all the way through very easily. Once I started using the ground meat chopper instead, it made the process so much easier and more enjoyable.

6. Jar Gripper

This thing comes in handy all the time, especially when I’m handling things with oil and then having to open jars, or most often my nutribullet! I make Bulletproof Coffee almost every morning, and sometimes a little MCT oil will get on my hands, which makes it really hard to twist the top off, but I just grab this jar gripper and that makes easy work of it!
