We recommend their passion fruit donut, spam musubi croissant, matcha chocolate cookie, and mochi puffs.  You really can’t go wrong with anything you get though.  Visit them at The Block DC to get your fix, and they sell out all the damn time so make sure you set your alarm to preorder.  PS.  We hear they’re opening their own brick and mortar soon so keep an eye out.

2.  Dolcezza Gelato

Dolcezza’s easily our favorite gelato spot in the DMV area.  We’ve never had a flavor we didn’t love, and their creamy goodness is a must, especially on days you need a scrumptious pick-me-up.

You can find their products in Whole Foods stores nationwide, but they also deliver straight to your door.  There are currently 11 flavors available, but we highly, HIGHLY recommend getting the dark chocolate, stracciatella, and tramontana…at least to start.

Although they offer a slew of desserts, their cakecups are where it’s at.  Priced at $4.40 a pop, they may seem expensive, but they’re ginormous and worth every cent.  Strawberry’s their most popular flavor, but we also love their chocolate doom and carrot cake.  And for those of you with dietary restrictions, they have some gluten-free and vegan options as well.

5.  Astro Doughnuts

Technically, it’s Astro Doughnuts & Fried Chicken, but we’re just gonna focus on the doughnuts part.  These hole-y round treats are so good, you’ll legit cry tears of joy.  Their crème brûlée – a perfectly caramelized exterior with light custard filling – is nothing short of magical, but you can’t go wrong with any of the flavors available so don’t hesitate to get one of each.  Just the right amount of sweet with the perfect texture each and every time.

ICJ’s Thai tea ice cream will forever have a special place in our hearts.  Their founder, Victoria Lai, is a certified badass, and she comes up with the most inventive flavors.  Think boozy eggnog, basil goat cheese, citrus sichuan peppercorn, need we say more?  Hit them up for a delicious treat the next time you’re out or indulge by ordering via Goldbelly.  Because you deserve to eat all the things.

Although Levain is very NY, we couldn’t have a DC dessert roundup and not list them because their cookies are crazy.  And they even have a gluten free option available which is dope!  They offer 5 different flavors, but our favorites are their dark chocolate chocolate chip and chocolate chip walnut.  In addition to said noms, they also have pastries, breads, and loaf cakes!

8.  District Doughnuts

Not gonna lie, Astro’s our favorite doughnut spot in the area, BUT District Doughnut’s a close second.  They offer both yeast and cake doughnuts, and their crème brûlée’s pretty damn tasty as well.  Plus, they get bonus points for torching ’em upon purchase since it’s fun, and we like fun.
