Before we even look at what’s on the inside of the tacos, we have to mention how delicious their tortillas are. They’re handmade, nice and thick, and doughy in the best way possible. They come rolled up in tinfoil like a big fruit rollup to keep them warm on the drive over, and you can just unwrap them and starting loading the goods in.

It comes with the 6 inch handmade flour tortillas, cheese, guacamole, hot sauce, and your choice of beef barbacoa, pulled chicken, or coca-cola carnitas. We tried the chicken and the carnitas and both were SO good! It’s tough to pick one over the other, but if we had to, we’d probably choose the carnitas. They were moist and cooked to tender perfection to the point where they literally just fell apart when we grabbed a piece.

If you want the complete experience, we highly recommend adding a few – or all – of the sides Don Pistos offers as well! You can choose among Mexican rice made with tomatoes, onions, and garlic, charro beans prepared with bacon, chorizo, onion, and cilantro, street corn crafted with mayo, cotija, and chile, and Texas queso with three cheeses, green chile, and pico de gallo. They’re all awesome as sides, but you can also toss them into your taco to make them even more tasty!
